- Who are we and what do we do?
We are students studying MSc Entrepreneurship and innovation management at the University of Surrey that works closely with Cherry Trees for this campaign. Cherry Trees is a small charity providing exceptional home-from-home specialist short breaks/respite for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.
Cherry Trees provide professional care in a safe, stimulating and fun environment, where every child is valued for who they are. It is a community that is dedicated to children and young people, enabling them to spend time with friends and enjoy new experiences and opportunities, while their families have a much-needed break.
- What is the aim of the project?
The fund will be used to purchase 12 Samsung tablets each costing £173 to relieve carers from paperwork, allowing more time to care for the children.
Each child has to go home with a report that consists of 3 x A4 pages for every 24 hours of care. Currently, these are written by hand and then photocopied and placed in the child’s bags. This becomes very difficult for our carers as they have to write their reports at the same time as caring for the children. The tablets will allow the reports to be typed up and emailed to parents after the child has gone home.
This will ensure more quality time is spent with the children and that all progress and assessment reports will be in one easily accessible place, along with medication and care requirements.
Campaign Goal: £2,100
- How you can you support us
With your kind donations and generous support, we can provide better and more efficient care for our children, making Cherry Trees an even better place for children to stay in. Remember, every donation will result in the Cherry Tree team having more time to care!
P.S. A single penny can have a huge impact towards children cares
